This holiday season, Lockport Love is accepting nominations for families and individuals in need of extra support. We especially focus on families facing temporary hardships such as medical or health conditions, sudden loss of income, or other unexpected challenges beyond their control.

✨ Please Note: We do not accept self-nominations. Nominations are strongest when submitted by community leaders, schools, churches, neighbors, or friends who know the family’s situation.

Who Can Be Nominated?

Must reside in the City of Lockport or Township of Lockport, ZIP code 60441

Must be going through a temporary hardship — for example:

• Medical or health challenges

• Sudden loss of income

• Unforeseen emergencies or disasters

While we may not be able to fully meet ongoing or long-term needs, our goal is to provide meaningful support during times of temporary crisis where it can make the most impact.

The Gift Parade 

One of our signature events is the Gift Parade. Unless there’s an exceptional reason otherwise, participation in the parade is expected for nominated families.

We deliver Christmas gifts to children in the nominated family during the parade, escorted by police cars, fire engines, with volunteers singing carols and Santa personally delivering the gifts.

How Nominations Work

• Deadline: All nomination requests must be submitted by October 17, 2025

• Inform the Family: Please let the family or individual know that you’ve nominated them, as they will receive a call from us

• Review Process: Our board carefully reviews all nominations and allocates funds based on need and available resources

• Confidentiality: All information provided is kept strictly confidential

Provide as many details as possible — medical circumstances, loss of income, number of children, and specific needs. The more complete the information, the better we can evaluate and support those truly in need.
